J1 Triangle

Blue Book: J1

Description: This patch is frequently referred to outside of our lodge as a "Vigil jacket patch". Within the lodge however it is known as the "Vigil Blanket patch". It was always attached to a dark blue blanket used by the Vigil member. In that the blanket was a gift from one Vigil to another, it was NEVER sold and you could only get one. The design for the patch was developed by John Phillips, John Hardin and Jon 'Bar' Barbarotto in 1974 and first made available to the Vigils present at the 1975 Vigil induction.

The story of how our lodge used the Vigil Blanket is very interesting and a topic unto itself. For more on this aspect of the patch see the Vigil Blanket section.

WARNING TO COLLECTORS: In recent years we have seen a few examples of this patch having been reproduced by unauthorized means. Frequently these fake patches sell for large sums of money. BEWARE. For more information, see the Known Fakes of Our Lodge Issues.
