Lodge Neckerchief Slide
| Description: This is the only lodge neckerchief slide to
come from Lodge 413. It was actually issued by one of our chapters. The story behind the slide is interesting and takes a bit of detective work to follow. At the 1967 Fall Fellowship it was voted to produce a Lodge neckerchief. One of our chapters decided to raise funds for the chapter dance team by producing a neckerchief slide to go with the neckerchief. The neckerchief however was never produced. Then it was noted by the lodge professional advisor that funds were being handled outside of council accounting and it was directed that the chapter stop what was being done since the lodge had also not approved the neckerchief slide. This effectively ended the fund raiser. The person who produced the slide, at that point began disposing of the 85 or so remaining for $1.00 each to recover their personal investment. Today these slides are very hard to find. |
