1971 Dixie Camporee
| Description: This insignia was available to all scouts
attending the Dixie District Spring Camporee in 1971. Because the patch
makes reference the "1st OA Tapout" the Blue Book and some who
collect Order of the Arrow patches will consider this to also be
a chapter issued patch. 1971 was the first year of our chapters
performing the Ordeal tapout so many of our six districts should
have made reference to this fact. The Dixie District patch exists both with and without the year "1971" in the design. This probably indicates a loom problem since there are quite a number of both around. The "19" should be to the left and "71" to the right of the bottom of the scout symbol on the lower portion of the patch. The Blue Book references this as the chapter x1971 issue. |
