X2 Turtle

Blue Book: X2

Description: This simple looking patch is one of the hardest to acquire from our lodge. It was intended as a Vigil activity patch, and a way to raise funds for setting up our Vigil blanket program. The active participation by a Vigil in up to five specific events in our lodge each year, back-dated to 1975 was the only requirement.

The patch contains no markings to identify it as a either a Scout patch or one from our lodge. It was to be placed on the Vigil Blanket (see Blue Book J1 for more on the Vigil blanket). There was however, no set placement position, and many were never actually sown on anything. Because of size of the patch however, it was eventually concluded that it distracted from the Vigil Triangle on our Vigil Blankets. When the initial supply ran out, the Vigils decided not to reorder them.
