Description: This is clearly a
reproduction of our 25th anniversary Vigil flap Blue Book S11 issue
which was made know to us by one of our former lodge members. It was discovered
being offered during the 2001 National Jamboree. Several examples were acquired
at that time. The quanity he was able to purchase were then marked "Repro" and
mainly distributed to members of our lodge. Most noticably, the blue sky is brigher than even mint examples of the real S11. While the stitch design is nearly identical to the original, when examined closely, you notice a series of stitched ridges running vertically across the design, characteristic of modern looms (the original was from a Swiss loom). Also, the patch is plastic backed whereas the original was cloth backed. The design is also mirrored on the back, while on the original it is obscured by the white base thread material. |
Quantity Known: More than 25? Characteristics: Bright Blue sky; vertical ridges of stitching; PB; 53x115mm. |
