Description: At some point between
1949 and 1966 at one of probably several reorders of our standard camp shield
patch, a minor change was made to clean up the lettering readability. This
thick letter version we refer to as the "Type 2" shield. This variant probably originated in the late 1950's. The earlier version (XT-16) probably came first. Both were taken directly from the design created by Floyd "Q-Ball" Pearce for the 1947 patch. |
Camp Location: Hardy, Arkansas Designation: XT-17 Characteristics: White twill; Green cut edge; Thick Black lettering; 76x84mm; twill pattern left and right variants exist. |
