Description: In 1969, we hosted the first conclave at our
brand new camp named Pine Trail Reservation - Camp Cedar Valley, located near
Viola, Arkansas. The "1st" on the patch denotes the first at our new camp. "V
A" represents our section in Region 5 as section "A". Our lodge would remain
in Section 5-A, until the twelve scouting regions consolidated to six, and we
became part of section SC-1a after the 1973 conclave.
Because our camp had only been open about a year (actually only had held summer camp the previous summer) there was a lot of interest around the state in seeing our new facilities. As a result, attendance was very high for the conclave. Most who attended were only able to acquire one of these patches. The conclave coordinator / chief for our lodge was John Phillips. |
