1975 SC-1A Conclave

1975 Section SC-1A Conclave Patch

Description: In 1974 and 1975 our section experimented with hosting conclaves at area colleges. This was an attempt to develop the conclave into more of a mini-NOAC experience for those who couldn't attend a NOAC. In 1975 our lodge hosted the second such experimental conclave and built upon the theme of activities leading up to our national bicentennial celebration. The design was pulled from the concept of the South Central region patch depicting the lodges in our section (Arkansas, plus 232 into Texas and 149 in Louisiana) as they might have been seen from outer space.

220 arrowmen attended the conclave even though Lodge 149 backed out. The conclave coordinators were Brad Gallop and Stephen White. Stephen also designed the insignia used for the conclave.

We also issued coffee mugs containing this design, and a round bolo with a similar design. Most who attended were able to acquire two patches, but since only 250 bolo were produced, not everyone who wanted one could acquire it. Extra patches cost $1.50; bolos cost $3.00; mugs $1.75.
