f2a Flap

Blue Book: F2a

Description: The F2 variants arose from minor design corrections to cleanup the arrow fletchings and also to give more definition to the cloud shape. This most likely occurred at inventory reorder, likely from a different manufacturer who did not use the Lyons shape, to the more curved sides seen in this issue. During the life of this issue, the wearing of the patch as a neckerchief patch stopped completely, in preference to traditional shirt flap use. In the context of early white flaps, while highly prized, the variants of this issue are the more commonly seen early issues.

Period of Issue:   Apx 1962 to 1965
