Description: This flap was the first fully embroidered
issue for Lodge 413. It was issued to coincide with the transition from our old
camp at Hardy, Arkansas (Old Cedar Valley), to our new camp at Viola, Arkansas
(Pine Trail Reservation). The colors were apparently keyed to the Explorer
uniform of period. The design did not translate as well as had been hoped and
as a result, the patch proved not to be very popular. A new design was then
sought and the decision was made to issue three flaps (Ordeal / Brotherhood /
Vigil) in 1968. The issue is sometimes referred to within the lodge as the
"Odd-Green" or "Off-Green" issue due to the darker Green border. This is a less
common flap from lodge 413. |
