Description: Following the smaller white flaps which had
omitted the fdl (Blue Book S12 and S13), it was decided to make the elements of
our standard design more distinct. Compared to many earlier issues, the arrow,
trees and thunderbird were more distinct. In addition, we intended to
correct the omission of the fdl. Unfortunately, we got a bit carried away! The
size of the flap grew quite a bit, resulting in a flap that simply was larger
than the pocket flap of most uniforms. In fact, the issue came to be know as
the "Jumbo White" or "Oversized White" flap. The issue is fairly common due to
the quantity issued. At the same time a Brotherhood pin was produced that looked like the flap. The pin was to be worn on the suspended arrow pin or flap. |
Period of Issue: 1985. Restrictions: None. Quantity Issued: 500 Characteristics: Oversized flap shape 65x125mm; White background; Large distinct Red arrow; fdl. |
