| Description: This was the first Brotherhood flap which was
issued during the period of our first set of three flaps (Ordeal / Brotherhood
/ Vigil). The flap could not be purchased by an Ordeal member. Further it was
"strongly encouraged" that members not trade this issue, recommending that the
Ordeal be used instead. Generally, this recommendation was followed, so that
today, the issue is not as commonly seen as the Ordeal issue. Within the lodge,
while this flap is not rare, it is also frequently not seen in mint condition.
This again was due to the fact that most members bought a limited number to
wear on their uniforms rather than to have for future trading. The example
shown here has been worn. |
