Official Lodge 413 Fall Fellowships

Back To Main Issues Index
In 1966 Lodge 413 held its first annual Fall Fellowship. This was partly in reaction to suggestions made by the National OA for lodge standards. The intention was to take a break from work-days, camp-preparation, inductions and related activities, to have some fun and relax. We choose the fall of the year so that this could be the first activity for newly inducted arrowmen. Because our council was also spread across a wide area, rather than using the summer camp for the fellowship, Jack Roy suggested that we always try to have the event somewhere in the central part of the council. Over the years these gatherings became a highlight of the year, with many forms of entertainment for our youth.

The Fellowship patches shown here all have a unique history within our lodge and many stories abound as to their meanings and/or why a particular year incorporated a certain design or element. It became a tradition for the incumbent chief to design 'his' fellowship patch and many of them (beginning in the mid 80's) used the chief's high school colors in the design. A complete set is a lofty goal for any avid 413 collector, with those from the 1960s and 1970s particularly hard to acquire.
